Kemptville ReStore cranked up the heat over the weekend.
The not-for-profit, which sells everyday donated household items, hosted a summer party on Saturday featuring a silent auction, games and some good deals in-store.
Staff and volunteers dressed for the occasion, despite the weather outside.
North Grenville Mayor Nancy Peckford said more than 50 businesses contributed through sponsorship and contributions. The mayor appeared in a short video on the ReStore Facebook page, noting how the community gathered together to help.
“Thank-you so much to everyone who supported this event…you are supporting a great cause with Habitat for Humanity.”
Habitat ReStores number more than 100 across Canada and accept and resell donations that include furniture, appliances and other useful items.
Profits support Habitat for Humanity, which facilitates ‘community builds’ to provide affordable housing in communities throughout the country.
