Kemptville’s new outdoor hockey rink is ready to use just in time for the holidays.
The municipality officially opened the outdoor rink at Riverside Park on Wednesday, December 20th.
Construction began on the rink last year, alongside the rest of the $1.5-million expansion to Riverside Park that also includes renovations to the pool house and a splash pad.
Mayor Nancy Peckford is thanking everyone that helped bring the rink to Kemptville, including Southgate Church, which donated the boards that surround it.
“This was a gracious and generous contribution from Southgate,” Peckford says, “who led the way in envisioning an outdoor rink for North Grenville.”
The rink is free to use and open every day for skating until 11:00 PM.
Peckford also says the change rooms and washrooms in the recently renovated pool house should be open by the end of the week.
