The minimum wage increase is being felt by everyone and the latest group to feel the pinch is North Grenville’s athletes.
Sports enthusiasts throughout North Grenville can expect rental rates of ice rinks and halls to increase by 2% whereas soccer field rates will more than double. Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture Mark Guy gave us some of the reasoning behind the decision:
Even with the increased rates, Mr Guy they are still lower than competing municipalities, with the City of Ottawa rates being 10$ more per hour than North Grenville’s comparatively.
