A new initiative has been launched for local children, in an effort to get them active!
The Power Off and Play! community challenge is now accepting applications as part of the Healthy Kids Community Challenge throughout Leeds and Grenville. Non-profit groups and organizations are eligible for $5,000 worth of funding towards programs that shorten the amount of time children spend in front of a screen.
Program Co-Facilitator Alexis Green says play time away from screens encourages development as well as physical, social and emotional well being. Power Off and Play! is the fourth theme in Healthy Kids overall strategy.
The deadline to apply for funding is March 2nd and if you’d like to learn more or apply for funding, please click this link.
