The Municipality has released an update on the Burritts Rapid Swing Bridge repairs.
In a post on the North Grenville website it has been announced that, weather permitting, the bridge will be closing on January 31st. The contractor will remove the bridge and transport it to a nearby shop. According to the town’s website moving the bridge off location for repairs will shorten the amount of time the area was expected to be closed. It is still expected to be closed for three to four months.
The pre-planned pedestrian crossing and the temporary parking lot are expected to be in place on January 29th. The detour route during the closure will take vehicles to the downstream crossing near Becketts Landing. North Grenville says there will be another update closer to the end of the month.
