Municipality of North Grenville Dog Tag Renewal

The Municipality of North Grenville is reminding pet owners that they need to renew their tags for 2018.

According to the municipality’s website under town bylaw it is illegal for dogs to be unregistered. Before March 31st a registration tag costs $15, after it increases to $30 and a replacement tag is $7. Kennel licenses are also required by the municipality, they cost $125 until March 31st and $250 for the rest of the year.

Pet owners are also reminded there is a limit on the number of pets that can be kept in buildings not zoned as rural or agricultural. One household cannot have more than three dogs or five cats over20 weeks old. The municipality is also reminding pet owners that under town bylaw the following things are considered illegal.

-allowing your dog to bark persistently
-not vaccinating your dog against rabies
-allowing your dog to attack or bite another domestic animal or person
-allowing your dog to run at large
-allowing your dog off leash on any property that does not belong to you
-allowing your dog to trespass
-not picking up after your dog
