Canopy Growth of Smiths Falls has entered into a supply and production contract with the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
When the country legalizes marijuana next year Canopy Growth will be supplying the province of Newfoundland. According to the company they will be providing the province with 8,000 kilograms of cannabis products for the first two years of the deal. They also say they intend to build a production facility similar to the one found in Smiths Falls, this would create 145 jobs and 12,000 kilograms of marijuana annually.
Chairman and CEO with Canopy Growth Bruce Linton says Canopy’s operations will soon stretch coast to coast, with locations now planned in seven provinces.
