The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario’s retiring Director of Education isn’t ready to stop working completely.
William J. Gartland will be leaving the catholic school board at the end of 2017 and it was just announced he would be entering the position of Associate National Executive Director for the Mood Disorders Society of Canada. Gartland says he is delighted to be joining a national organization where committed individuals can make a real difference.
Gartland will start at his new position in January and CDSBEO Chair Todd Lalonde says while working as Director of Education he prioritized the mental health of staff and students.
In his new role, Gartland will be responsible for MDSC programs, resources and advocacy work, while working to build upon the existing programs and services.
