Kemptville 73s split the weekend

The Kemptville 73s got the win on fire prevention night at the North Grenville Municipal Centre.

The 73s started the weekend on Friday night when they welcomed the Pembroke Lumber Kings. After a tied first period Kemptville took over scoring three unanswered to cruise to a 4-1 final. The team took a lot of penalties but were able to hold the Lumber Kings scoreless on the powerplay. Liam Hunter had assists on the first three Kemptville goals and Tyson Kirkby also picked up his 10th assist of the young season.

They played at home again on Monday night against the Rockland Nationals. Kemptville had the lead headed into the third but they were outshot 12-6 in the final frame and the game ended 4-2 for Rockland. 73s goalie Nick Bond stopped 23 of 26 shots in a losing effort.

The team’s next game will be on Friday when they travel to play the Navan Graduates.
