Kemptville District Hospital unveils new clinic space

The ribbon has been cut on Kemptville District Hospital’s state-of-the-art clinic space.

Last Friday was a day of celebration at KDH as a crowd of more than 75 community members, physicians, staff and volunteers cheered during the ceremony. The newly finished clinic wing is located on the upper level of hospital, where they used 4,000 square feet of underutilised space and revamped it. The move effectively doubles the hospitals array of outpatient services according to representatives at KDH.

Speakers at the event included Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark, North Grenville Mayor David Gordon, KDH Board Chair Karen Cooper, Foundation Board Chair Robert Noseworthy, CEO Frank Vassallo and Mr Shawn Tobin, a member of the working group planning the new clinic space. During her speech Karen Cooper explained the new space would allow for additional programs to be provided for children and youth, expanded services for people with chronic illnesses and some new specialised clinics.

Robert Noseworthy used his speech as an opportunity to thank the donors who helped support the modernisation project. He added that they were $400,000 dollars of the way to their $1 million dollar goal and that they were relying on the generosity of North Grenville to help raise the remainder.
Attendees were also given a sneak peek tour of the new clinic space.
