New Director of Education for Catholic School Board

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario has announced the appointment of a new Director of Education for the Board.

Starting January 1st John Cameron, the current Associate Director of Education, will move into the position of full director. The board’s chair Todd Lalonde says Cameron has a long career in Catholic education. During his 26 year career Cameron has held the position of secondary teacher, vice-principal, principal and superintendent on top of his current position.

Cameron started his career as a teacher at St. Joesph’s Catholic Secondary School in Cornwall. While an administrator he helped with the Religious and Family Life Education Department, the International Education program, the Adult and Continuing Education program as well as the Student Success Portfolio. According to the school board he has also acted as a mentor for the CDSBEO Catholic student trustees and key facilitator of the CDSBEO Parent Involvement Committee.

When asked to comment on his appointment Cameron said he was honoured to have the opportunity and looks forward to building on the success of his predecessor.
