A first is coming to Kemptville.
On September 25th students with the Ontario French Language School Board will be celebrating La Journee des Franco-Ontarians. Celebrations are planned all across the province but Kemptville’s is special according to the school board. The municipality of North Grenville recently opened a French public school and to honour the occasion municipal council plan to raise the Franco-Ontarian flag for the first time in municipality history.
The school board says a convoy of students will stop at the town hall to sing Mon beau drapeau (my beautiful flag) before the flag is officially raised. The event is scheduled to start at 11:00am.
