Brockville’s installment of the Shopper’s Drug Mart Growing Women’s Health Campaign is adding something extra.
According to the Brockville District Hospital Foundation on November 2nd they will be hosting a ladies only event at the Aquatarium called Women with Heart. The evening is being put on with sponsorship from Shopper’s Drug Mart and runs from 6:30pm until 9:00pm. Attendees will be entertained by Second City Alumnae Deborah Kimmet and her laugher for the heart. There will also be elegant appetizers and cocktails as a prelude to the evening’s performance.
This event, like the local Growing Women’s Health Campaign, will raise money for the Brockville Cardiovascular Program and awareness about heart disease in women. According to representatives with BGH heart disease is the number one killer of women over 55 in Canada. The program started in 2009 and receives no government funding, making it totally dependent on funding from the hospital foundation and community at large.
Tickets for the event are $100 each and there is a limited number available.
