A woman has been arrested after leaving a store with almost $1,000 in unpaid goods.
Brockville Police say they were called by Loss Prevention at a North-end department store because they suspected a large theft to be in progress. Attending officers saw a woman loading a shopping cart full of merchandise before leaving the store without making any attempt to pay for the goods in her cart.
According to Brockville Police they arrested the woman for Theft under $5,000. Once police had identified the 51-year-old accused they learned she had outstanding warrants with the OPP because of another theft. Brockville police say they released the Kemptville woman into the custody of the OPP after she was given documents compelling her to court.
The total value of the items stolen in this incident was $968.00.
