Police reminding drivers to move over

Police say moving over for vehicles on the side of a highway should be a common courtesy.

East Region Ontario Provincial Police say an Ottawa OPP member was nearly struck by a coach bus shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday as they had a vehicle stopped.

The bus was stopped, and the driver was issued a $490 ticket for failing to move over for an emergency vehicle.

Moving over for vehicles on the side of the highway is the law when it comes to emergency vehicles and tow trucks.
