A drug trafficking investigation initiated by Brockville and Gananoque Police Services has resulted in more than 50 criminal charges.
Project Arlington, started in the fall of 2024, is a drug trafficking investigation designed to arrest members involved in violent criminal networks and disrupt their locally focused illegal narcotics distribution network, according to a media release.
Eight local individuals were arrested. Police seized more than 2.5 kilograms of cocaine, more than 1,800 methamphetamine tablets, large quantities of other heavy drugs, several guns, and more than $100,000 in proceeds of crime.
Charges include possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), OPP, Smiths Falls Police Service and Cornwall Police Service also worked on the project.
