Kemptville Gym Owner Hoping To Save Business And Become Next ‘Miss Jetset’

A Kemptville gym owner is hoping to grace the cover of a renowned lifestyle magazine in an effort to save her business.

Jessica Goodhue has made it through four rounds of voting into the quarterfinals of the ‘Miss Jetset’ Cover Model competition and is one step closer to appearing on the magazine’s front page and winning $50,000.

She says winning this competition would not only mean a lot to her personally but it would also potentially save her business.

“Prior to the pandemic, we were looking to expand and we just had a lot going on.” Goodhue said. “Once it hit, we lost everything. All the money I had saved for our expansion is now gone but this would bring us back almost to where we were before it hit. So, that’s why when it came up, I thought it was almost a calling that I had to try at least and see and I got this far, so, something’s working.”

Now that she’s in the quarterfinals, Goodhue says she needs as much help from the community as she can get.

The top contestant from this round of voting will be advanced to the semifinals.

Goodhue says no Canadian has ever won the ‘Miss Jetset’ cover, and she’s determined to be the first.

She says the money would not only save her business but it would also provide a happy place for her customers.

“I rarely do things for myself or ask anything but the reason why I am doing this is not necessarily because of me but for my members at my studio. They love it, it’s their happy place and for them to be able to go back, it would just be a dream to be able to do that.”

Voting is free and you can cast a vote every 24 hours until voting closes on February 11th.

Votes can also be purchased to help the B+ Foundation for children with cancer.
