Kemptville Pride is searching for its new leader.
The organization is looking to hire a new Executive Director to help plan, fund, and organize Pride activities in Kemptville and support LGBTQ2+ people and their families in the area.
Logistics Coordinator for Kemptville Pride Julia O’Grady says they want a committed community leader who wants to see the growth of pride in the community.
“Essentially, what the position is is taking our grassroots organization and making it into something sustainable and exceptional that is not only relying on volunteers,” O’Grady said. “Our volunteers are amazing and they do great things but to get an organization where we envision this organization to be, we really need someone who can lead the charge.”
Kemptville Pride came to fruition in 2019 and despite no events in 2020 due to the pandemic, the organization has grown exponentially.
The key responsibilities for the new Executive Director will include developing and conducting an environmental scan, as well as an organizational governance structure and developing a strategic plan.
O’Grady says whoever fills the role will be very busy.
“We already have a great base based on last year’s Pride event,” she said. “If we decide we have to go virtual again, I think we would probably run something similar. If we get the opportunity to do something live, then obviously we look at what the possibilities are for this year.”
