The North Grenville District High School boys varsity baseball team is celebrating a big win.
The team played in the Leeds and Grenville Secondary School Athletic Association (LGSSAA) finals last week. After being named LGSSAA champions, the team is heading to the Eastern Ontario Secondary School Athletic Association (EOSSAA) finals tomorrow. Coach Derrick Byrd says the baseball team is a first for the high school.
The team was formed two weeks ago and has 12 players, ranging from grade 9 to 12. Byrd says LGSSAA was the first time the team played together competitively.
The team’s goal is to make it to the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) finals. For more details, visit northgrenville.ucdsb.on.ca.
