If you’re interested in the archaeology of North Grenville a proposed club is for you.
Michael Whittaker of Bishop’s Mills has suggested interested parties form a Rideau Grenville Archaeological Society. The group would hold regular meetings with guest speakers related to the profession. Whittaker says since he put the idea forward nearly a dozen people came forward and that leads him to believe people want to locate, protect and perhaps dig under the guidance of a licensed archaeologist.
Whittaker also adds that he believes the Merrickville and District, and North Grenville Historical Societies do an outstanding and ever improving job preserving the area’s history. If you’re interested in participating contact Whittaker at [email protected] or 613-258-0477.
