Despite a recent investment into a marijuana company in the area, Leeds and Grenville will not be hosting a store.
The Ontario government released the first 14 cities that will have government run dispensaries opened in them. The closest ones are Kingston and Ottawa. According to the government they plan to open 40 stores by July of 2018, so there are still 26 chances for one to land in Leeds and Grenville.
Government representatives add that there will also be the option to purchase online. By 2020 it is estimated that 150 marijuana retail outlets will be open in the province.
