Kemptville Pop-Up Shops

A second Kemptville building owner has provided space for the Kemptville Pop-Up Shop Program.

Owner of the 215 Sanders Street mall, Mark Farrell, has offered up a location that could be used for a pop-up shop in the future. Pop-up shops are businesses that take over empty storefronts. According to Old Town Kemptville Business Improvement Area these kinds of shops are proven to increase foot traffic in an area, as well as becoming successful long term tenants.

The Kemptville pop-up program will offer businesses up to five months of residency in a commercial space for half the market value, up to $750 dollars including the utilities. There will also be up to $500 worth of marketing support and mentor-ship from local entrepreneurs that will help establish these businesses in the community long-term.

Partial funding for the program is coming from Old Town Kemptville, the Economic Development Department of the Municipality of North Grenville and the Grenville Community Futures Development Corporation through the Federal Economic Development Agency for South Ontario’s Eastern Ontario Development Program.
