Medals commemorating Canada’s 150th birthday will be given out in Leeds and Grenville this week.
At the Brockville Arts Center on Wednesday October 11th Leeds-Grenville – Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes MP Gord Brown and Leeds-Grenville MPP Steve Clark will be presenting the medals. Recipients will be individuals nominated by their community who have contributed significantly as volunteers or community builders.
The medal program was created after a similar initiative was cancelled by the federal government. MP Brown and MPP Clark chose to continue the project, but focused specifically on the Leeds-Grenville area. The medal presentations will start at 7:00pm.
