A St. Michael’s highSchool student is being praised for his quick thinking.
Cameron Durie, a student at St. Michael’s Catholic High School was walking to class when he noticed smoke and heard a fire alarm sounding in the downtown area. According to North Grenville Fire Services he quickly notified them and they would like to recognize his efforts in stopping a potential emergency.
The incident was investigated and determined to be a false alarm but Fire Chief John Okum and Fire Prevention Officer Shannon Armitage are using the opportunity to remind residents that working smoke alarms are the law and save lives.
