Latest CDSBEO fundraiser a success

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario set a personal record with its last fundraiser.

On Tuesday the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) hosted their 10th annual Good Samaritan Trust Fund Golf Tournament and Silent Auction at the Smith Falls Golf and Country Club. This year the CDSBEO raised over $31,400 through registration fees, sponsorships and bids on the silent auction. That is over $8,000 more than was raised at last year’s tournament. The tournament was started in 2006 with the goal of raising funds to assist CDSBEO students and families with financial support when other charitable organizations are unable to help. The fund aims to fill the void that can develop because of the strict criteria some charitable organizations have for who qualifies for support.

The tournament’s top foursome of the day was John Cameron, Andrew Krol, Keith Dickson and Michael Whelan. The School Team Challenge winners were Kathy Laushway, Leigh Ann Ellis, McLean Koekkoek and Kris Laushway. Brent Bovaird, Crystal Lake, Andrew Lovett and Nancy McIntyre won the Frank B. Musca Award and the Top Corporate was made up of Steve Burke, Innis McDonell, Kristen Ward and Mark Branchaud representing Cameron Networks.

The CDSBEO are thankful to all of their sponsors, prize donors, volunteers and supporters of the tournament and silent auction.
